I’ve had a lot of people ask me why I would put a radio ad in my book. Well, radio is my thing – and as a writer, I don’t think that’s anything to be ashamed of. I really can’t help but love this piece. It’s a story of a man who dreams of owning a Harley… and a wife who is just so goddamn sick of hearing it.

Script

In this script, we can hear a husband snoring as he sleeps next to his wife. His snores resemble the iconic “potato” sound of a Harley-Davidson bike taking off down a road. As his snores get louder and louder, his wife’s frustration grows too.

SFX: We can hear the sound of crickets chirping through the night.  

Man: (Snoring) Horhhh… shh….

Man: (Snores again) Horhhhh… brumm… brumm…

Man: (His snore grows louder, as if a Harley-Davidson is beginning to take off) Hoorhhh…Brumm… brumm… brumm…

Wife: (We can hear her tossing and turning) Argh, stop it.

Man: BRUMMM…BRUMMM… BRUMMM!

SFX: The woman picks up a pillow and throws it towards her husband to wake him.

Wife: Urgh, enough!

 Husband: Huh? What?

Wife: Just get the Harley!
